Out in Canton, OH is the Colonial Lanes bowling alley. In the classic bowling alley marquee mode, two diamonds advertise the snack bar and lounge below the "bowl" letters.
Another good place for a few games of bowling is Starlite Lanes. Starlite is located on S. Beacon Bl in Grand Haven, Michigan. In between games, take a peek at the starfish on the outside wall.
Featuring 28 lanes, the Town Hall Bowl in Cicero is up with the current trends, as illustrated by its advertisement of cyber bowl. Best of all, the Town Hall features a a vintage ten pin alley marquee.
The marquee for the Palace Bowl is relatively nondescript when compared to the Town Hall above. Update 09/05 : The front of this bowling alley was used in the movie Uncle Buck with John Candy. The movie showed the front of the place when Candy was headed to bowl....although the inside as I recall wasn't actually used. Many thanks to Richard Falk for update. 09-05 Update 12/06 : Here's an update on the status of the Palace Bowl in Cicero, IL. This bowling lamp is from the Star Lanes in Sandusky.
Here's an interesting sign for a bowling alley found in Oak Harbor, OH. This marquee looks like it belongs on an old auto dealership. Not sure if this dates back to the era of the old dealerships which would be the 1920's and 1930's.
Not sure how old this bowling alley marquee is. However, this sign for the Planet Bowl in Oklahoma City is interesting, nonetheless.
This bowling alley found in Indianapolis looks forlorn and abandoned. Fountain Square Bowling Check out this bowling alley in Fountain Square of Indianapolis. This bowling pad is part of the historic Fountain Square located one and a half miles from downtown Indianapolis.
See the atomic duckpin bowling and the era from which it hails from.
This Restaurant is the part of the building that also houses the bowling alley at Fountain Square, Indianapolis. A rather large complex.
