The Grand Theatre was built in 1935 on the site of the former Grand Opera House which succumbed to fire. After closing in 1986, the Grand Theatre was restored to new life and is very much still in business today. The Grand was listed on the State Register of Historic Places in 1997. Today, the Nuart Theatre serves as home to a non-profit outreach ministry that uses the former theatre as an outreach center and street ministry.
