Grand Theatre
Rocky Ford, CO

The Grand Theater in Rocky Ford, CO is still in business showing first run movies. Rocky Ford is the melon capital of the Rocky Mountain region. Their watermelons and honey dew melons are famous throughout the region.

The Grand Theatre was built in 1935 on the site of the former Grand Opera House which succumbed to fire. After closing in 1986, the Grand Theatre was restored to new life and is very much still in business today. The Grand was listed on the State Register of Historic Places in 1997. Nuart Theatre
Moscow, ID

The Nuart Theatre is a familiar sight to see along Main Street in downtown Moscow, ID with its glowing marquee. The Nuart opened as a movie house in 1935 and was home to many a first-run movie. The Nuart closed its doors in 1999 then reopened under the new ownership of Community Christian Ministries in 2004.

Today, the Nuart Theatre serves as home to a non-profit outreach ministry that uses the former theatre as an outreach center and street ministry. The Nuart Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. For more information on the latest incarnation of the Nuart, see this website. 05-09
