Another resort looking motel is the Tropics Motor Motel in Indio. With a slightly tiki theme, the Tropics fits in well with the desert oasis motif.
Here's Desert Shore's only still operative motel. It doesn't appear as if the neon on the Sea and Sun Motel's marquee still lights up the roadside anymore. 06-06
The Kismet Lodge is a lovingly restored 1960s "Spa-Tel" in Desert Hot Springs. The old neon sign "Kismet Lodge" is named after the old broadway play. The location is currently the Living Waters Spa -- A European Style Clothing Optional Mini-Resort Spa. 06-06
