Richfield Gas (Closed)

The old Richfield Gas station in Lemon Cove looks ready for a couple of vintage pumps and another day along the highway. Its streamlined canopy and bold lettering give it that familiar deco-era look, although the station dates to 1942. Quite a roadside find on the way toward Sequoia National Park. 10-09
The station sold gasoline along Highway 198 until 1964. Look closely at the Richfield letters and remnants of the old neon mounting holes can still be seen. The pumps are gone, but much of the little service station’s character remains.
UPDATE: The building survives in private use as storage, with its canopy and weathered Richfield lettering intact. No fill-ups here anymore, but there is still plenty worth a roadside look. 09-26
