Hungry after a night cruising around Wildwood? The bright neon sign for Romeo's Famous Pizzeria is a familiar sight along Pacific Avenue, with enough old-school glow to fit right in with Wildwood's colorful roadside scene.

Romeo's has been serving pizza here since 1975, and this isn't exactly a lunch stop. The place is known for keeping late-night hours, sometimes running from 5 in the evening until 5 in the morning. In fact, they proudly advertise, "We Don't Do Lunch!!"

With the neon glowing outside and pizza going well into the night, Romeo's is one of those little Wildwood stops that looks even better after the sun goes down.

Walking through Boston's North End, keep an eye out for the old neon sign hanging above Thacher Street. That's Regina Pizzeria, a neighborhood pizza joint that's been serving up pies here since 1926.

The original Regina opened in a small building that had previously been a bakery, and the place still has that cozy old neighborhood feel. Inside you'll find booths, old photographs and plenty of memorabilia, along with the original brick oven that's been turning out pizzas for generations.

Regina eventually grew into a familiar New England name with locations around the region, but this little North End storefront is where it all started. The projecting neon sign advertising "Pizza, Beer & Wine" makes it an easy RoadsidePeek stop, especially after dark.

UPDATE: Regina Pizzeria celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2026. The original North End location remains open, and its familiar neon sign still hangs over Thacher Street. 08-26
