The shiny stainless steel exterior and glowing neon make 11th Street Diner look like it belongs in the 1950s. Sitting along busy Washington Avenue, it's one of those places that naturally catches your eye while exploring Miami Beach.

The diner actually began life in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where it opened in 1948. In 1992, the entire building was carefully taken apart, moved to Florida, and reassembled just a few blocks from the beach. Thankfully, it kept much of its original charm, including the long counter, cozy booths, and classic diner atmosphere.

Today it's a popular stop for breakfast, burgers, and late-night comfort food, and its authentic vintage look even earned a visit from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It's not every day you find a roadside diner that traveled more than a thousand miles to start a second life.
