Route 66Here's an old Fina gas station, located in Grants. The place is now abandoned, yet another ghost hearkening back to the glory years of the Mother Road, back before the interstate bypassed the local businesses.

Route 66Whiting Bros was once a household name for gas, and was well known for its eye-catching signs and cheap prices. Wonder what Whiting Bros would be charging in this day and age when $2.00+ per gallon is the norm.

Route 66To the left are a couple more photos of the abandoned Whiting Bros. gas station, located in Casa Blanca, NM. The mother road may be pretty well worn around this area and the signs themselves may be a bit faded from the sun, but it's always great to see roadside sign survivors.

In the background of the far left photo, you can see the dilapidated gas station/motel/grocery store.
