The big man for Big Daddy's Flea Market still stands tall holding up the sign for the business. Even Big Daddy couldn't hide while dusk set, near Las Cruces, NM.

New Mexico is home to two more big men... the Albuquerque Man off Route 66 and John's Used Cars Man in Gallup. John Man also is of the cowboy/rodeo variety.

Here's a mystery man located in Farmington, New Mexico. This Farmington Man is one of the classic fiberglass species, whose relatives can be found at Roadside Peek's Roadside Men.

The Farmington Man looks like he's been spruced up a bit, with a new shiny paint job and belt. He's now empty handed.

UPDATE 12/04 : The Western Tire store, or as the locals call it, the store with big man on top is closing this year or the beginning of next year in 2005. The business has served here for 49 years in Farmington, NM. It is sad to see it go. The rumor is that the man will be sold on eBay. Many thanks to Bill K. for update. 12-04

Here's a shot of the Farmington Man, now called Sonny the Big Man, taken taken Wed, April 20th. The Farmington Ambassadors (Farmington Chamber of Commerce) cut a welcoming ribbon as a crew helped Sonny to his feet. To everyone’s amusement, his new friends at Sun Glass had sprung for a new blue work shirt so he’d match all his coworkers. Currently Sonny is still empty-handed, but I am pretty sure that’s going to change.

If you would like to know more about Sonny, contact Sun Glass at 505-327-9677.
