The Gateway Arch is a terrific product of the 60's, and is a fantastic city icon, especially when a heavy downpour comes down unexpectedly.

This huge marquee for the Munger Moss Motel stands tall in Lebanon, MO. Resembling the old Holiday Inn sign of yesteryear, the Munger Moss is an old roadside motel that's still worth a visit and stay, as it sits alongside Route 66.

The Boots Motel in picturesque Carthage, MO sits alongside the 66. Rumors have it that this old lodging establishment is now for sale. Hopefully this motel treasure will find a new owner with an interest in preservation.

66 Drive-in Theatre
Carthage, MO

Speaking of preservation, the 66 Drive-in Theatre in Carthage, MO is a fine example of a drive-in theatre that was preserved and restored rather than demolished by a wrecking ball. The 66 Drive-in now shows movies and is kept up in great condition. Be sure to visit the gift shop next door.

Next stop: Onwards to Kansas.
