An immense sign that can be seen for blocks is the North Park sign on University Ave.
Here is a fantastic shoe repair sign for Chito's. And best of all, the neon still works on this sign.

In the Banker's Hill area of San Diego, see the Barcelona Apartments. This apartment building sports classic retro signage on the side of the building itself.
The Mission Hills Radio and TV place is housed in building shaped like a mission. Better yet, the neon still works.
