The Colonnade Hotel with its streamline marquee shines over Eureka. This lodging area is a flashback to the era where hotels had lighted neon marquees outside beckoning to the passing by road traveler.

Fallon, NV

Seen below is the marquee for the Lariat Motel of Fallon, NV. Check out the detail on this fine sign. Best of all, this animated cowboy still glows at night. Or at least it used to glow, at least since the 1950's.

Unfortunately, the sign no longer stands as the motel was razed on February 9, 2005. Fortunately, the Lariat sign was moved to be reinstalled at the Oats Park Arts Center.

See more about the Lariat at Roadside Peek's Lost Treasures feature on the Lariat Motel.

The Pine Cone Resort sign still catches the attention of onlookers and tries to draw in guests with its offer of a heated swimming pool.
