On a trip to Reno in September, I found that the railroad has been put underground, the construction taking out a whole row of old motels. The sign from the Uptown Motel is all that remains of it. Many thanks to Dan MacPherson for info. 12-06
Travel down Virginia St. in Reno and the Heart O' Town Motel is a can't miss item, both literally and figuratively. Check out the look of this marquee. 02-07
Here's and old faded out marquee that looks like it took many hits from the Nevada desert sun. The star no longer shines at the Char Ann Motor Lodge. 02-07 Sandman Motel Check out his oft photographed sign for the Sandman Motel. Just looking at this marquee will resolve any questions why. Another roadside gem found in the Nevada desert. 02-07 (Below) Here is the El Dorado Motel in Reno, NV. The El Dorado is an old time survivor in Reno on the old highway to Carson City and Virginia City. Based on the surrounding development in the area, this roadside veteran won't be around much longer. 03-08
