Here's a nice old shot of the Lake Mead Rancheros of Las Vegas. Other than the Shell sign disappearing, it appears that not much has changed over the years.

Sombrero Motel
Las Vegas, NV

Check out this neon sign for the Sombrero Motel in Las Vegas. What better place for a siesta than an ol' Sombrero?

Well, like all good things (and signs), the look of this place has changed over the years. In this case, the motel took on a bird name.

Castaways
Las Vegas, NV

Here's a postcard image of the Castaways Hotel and Casino. The Mirage volcano now sits at this site.

El Morocco Motel
Las Vegas, NV
Postcard courtesy Allen Sandquist

Check out these shots of the El Morocco Motel and Casino in its prime. The El Morocco originally opened in 1964 as the El Morocco Motel. The place eventually became the Gingseng Bar BBQ Restaurant 30 years later.

El Morocco Motel at night
Las Vegas, NV
Postcard courtesy Allen Sandquist

Most recently a Korean BBQ restaurant sat in its place. Unfortunately, this grand sign was recently razed and replaced with a jewel of a backlit plastic sign. Jewel? Not. Another Vegas landmark has now become a memory. 05-08

Suez Motel
Las Vegas, NV
Postcard and info courtesy Allen Sandquist

Take a look a this image of the old Suez Motel which used to sit along Las Vegas Boulevard. What's in its place now? The Monte Carlo.
