Route 66Here's the neon sign for Garcia's Restaurant in Albuquerque. Garcia's has been around since 1975 according to the Garcia's Kitchen website. The neon glow from this sign makes this Route 66 eatery extremely hard to miss as you cruise down Central Avenue.

La Cita Mexican Foods in Tucumcari is a well known Route 66 site for its trademark sombreros at the entrance way and marquee.

TRoute 66his huge sign for Virgie's Mexican Food in Gallup is a real eye-catcher... especially in its place along Route 66.

 

UPDATE 09/10 : Unfortunately the neon had been taken off this sign when last seen in summer 2010. 09-10

 

 

Don Diego's Restaurant

Route 66Don Diego's Restaurant is still going strong to this day. Not sure what their hours are though due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The building at Don Diego's features a cool mid-century or swinging retro look. This restaurant must be doing something right to be surviving all these years. 11-20
