Not sure where the motel building itself went, but the marquee for the Los Alamitos Motel still stands proudly along the roadside.
Here's an older shot of the Zia Motel, back when it was still open and doing business.
Permanence is not a word that's uttered much, especially as the roadside motels drop by the wayside. More recent change is the Zia Motel now for sale.
The Aztec Motel was built in 1931, and is listed on State &
National historic registers. Check out all of the interesting artifacts
decorating this building.
The Road Runner Motel is a classic roadside lodging establishment along the main drag in Gallup, NM. Especially with the snow on the roof, the Road Runner Motel shows off its Route 66 roots. The Apache Motel is located in Tucumcari, New Mexico and is just one of the many roadside motel treasures that could be found in this city of 1,500 rooms. UPDATE 10/08 : The Apache Motel marquee was painted white in recent years, removing some of the character of the old sign. 10-08
