The Hacienda Motel was built in 1946 and is a decent sized motel complex located off of busy North Oracle Road in Tucson. The motel complex has multiple roadside signs. I spoke to what I believe wha a representive of "new" ownership about 10 years ago and the motel was going to be invested in and upgraded to attract the modern tourist.

The motel was sold in 2022 and will be converted to apartments. 06-23

The Blue Line Motel on Hobson Way has been a big part of the Blythe commercial area. Opening in 1950, the motel sign used to light up the main drag at night. While the sign still exists, the motel area itself is the site of a lot of activity.

Those were the days when neon signs were lit and rooms were $20. 06-23

Boots & Saddle Motel
Casa Grande, AZ

Do you remember the days and nights when the Boots & Saddle Motel sign used to light up at night in Casa Grande. On this evening, the motel neon beckoned tired roadside travelers to its toom for rest and relaxation including a pool and TV. The Boots and Saddle Motel opened its doors almost 70 years ago in 1954. This place is definitely a survivor as many of the other roadside stops and their signage have disappeared.

After falling into disrepair in the 1970s, the motel was refreshed and now features long term living accommodtions. The movie was home to a movie set for Coyote Requiem about 10 years ago. 06-23
