Route 66Here are a couple of shots of the Hacienda Motel as it looked back in the late 1990s. The Hacienda Motel featured a yellow sign as well as a separate sign that clearly identifies where the mote office is. The motel is now gone. Not sure where it was located other than it being on Route 66 in Williams. 09-21

Route 66Check out this cool sign located in Kingman. The Belle Art Center Lodge used to be locate right in town. Not sure what came of the motel and sign. 09-21 Route 66Check out this old faded sign for the Chief's Motel. This find is in the Route 66 town of Valentine which is on the loop between Kingman and Seligman. 09-21

 

Star Inn (Gone - former Desert View Lodge)

Route 66Check out the super tall marquee at the Star Inn which is found in Holbrook, AZ. This Route 66 motel is located next to the Plainsman Restaurant. The Star first opened in the 1950s as the Desert View Lodge and featured 23 units to tired travelers looking for a place o stay. Later the Desert View Lodge became the Star Inn.

Well, the Star Inn closed down like so many others in Holbrook. The motel sign was removed and the site is completely vacant today. 09-21

 

Route 66The Mayfair Motel is a motel found along Route 66 in Winslow, AZ. The Mayfair Motel was built in 1962 and at the time this photo was taken room were about $19 for a room. The sign is now gone at this 21 unit motel which is now the Winslow Ranch Apartments. 09-21 Route 66Travel west along the Route 66 in Ash Fork, AZ, and you will encounter this old abandoned motel. It didn't appear that the motel was open anymore when this photo was taken. 09-21

Route 66The Orlando Motel still stands alongside the Route 66 in Truxton, AZ. The motel sign proudly proclaims the Orland Motel which was built in the 1960s. 09-21

Route 66The Red Rose Inn featured a sign that advertised its low rates. The Red Rose Inn was located close to the Western Hills Motel. The Motel closed down and the sign is now gone. 09-21

Route 66Check out this old sign at the Texan Motel in the Route 66 town of McLean, TX. The Texan Motel sign back in 2000 still featured a sign that looked in good shape.

Word is this motel is now a part of the Texas Motel which was originally known as the Dixie Motel. 09-21
