Route 66The old town of Holbrook is a must see stop to grab a bite, fill up gas, or find some lodging for the night after a long day on the road. Back in the day, Holbrook was home to many old motels and eateries, especially back before the Interstate bypassed Route 66. One of these motels was the Western Holiday Motel.

The Western Holiday Motel was a place to stay back in the day and also featured a restaurant. Well this location is now gone. 09-21

Flagstaff, AZ

Route 66Here is the Alpine Motel that was fenced off when this photo was taken in the 1990s. The motel sign was very unique and featured a skiing character as part of the marquee.

The Alpine used to be one of several Route 66 motels that used to provide lodging for tired travelers along the Mother Road either heading towards Williams or Winslow. The office area featured a really cool colorful sign that pointed the way in. The motel is now the site of the Sportsman's Warehouse. 09-21
