This old sign draws your attention to the Plymouth Court. This Santa Cruz motel's marquee still shows its neon tubing around the "court" lettering. Not sure if the sign still lights up these days though.

Santa Clara, CA

Here's a black and white shot of the Western Motel cactus marquee in Santa Clara. The motel appears to have a ranch theme.

According to this site, Western Motel was built in 1948 along El Camino with the sign being added in 1959. The good news is that this motel marquee still survives through 2010.

UPDATE 08/12 : The marquee for the Western Motel still stands intact, however the neon lettering is now gone. 08-12

Here's an old sign for the Plaza Motel, found in the Sacramento area. Not sure if the neon still lights up.

UPDATE 08/12 : The motel marquee is history, part of the West Sacramento redevelopment that has taken place along West Capitol. Just about all of the old signs that used to make this area special for roadside fans is now gone. 08-12
