The Riverboat Hotel in Reno is now home to apartments. This front facade has been removed after the casino closed in 1998. 10-09

Here's a good look at the historic Mapes Hotel and Casino from downtown Reno, NV. According to onlinenevada.com, the Mapes was the first major high-rise hotel built in the United States after World War II, dating back to December 1947. Despite being listed on the National Register of Historic Place, the Mapes was demolished on the morning of January 30, 2000. 09-10

Check out the Holiday Casino which looks like a classic building from the mid-century with the script lettering to match. According to this photoblog, the Holiday Casino was the original home of the World Series of Poker. The Holiday opened in 1956 and closed in 1998. The building is now home to the Sienna. 09-10
