Here's a shot of the familiar red Pegasus that used to adorn the Mobil gas stations across America. Now a rarity, this Pegasus is located at this historic old Mobil Gas Station in San Antonio. It appears that the building had become some sort of store but is now closed.
The station was constructed for the Magnolia Petroleum Company back in 1929 prior to being acquired by Mobil. It shut down as a gas station in 1985. 10-06

Here is a long abandoned gas station in Dundee, TX. This was pretty much all that was seen in Dundee as the actual town could not be found. Dundee was about a half hour from Wichita Falls. 02-07

Check out this restored Phillips 66 gas station, located in McLean. This gas station was first built in 1928 and was restored by the Texas Old Route 66 Association in 1992. The station was built in a Tudor-Revival style with gabled roof and front chimney. The station was remodeled in 1991. 02-07
UPDATE 08/21 : Here are additional photos of the iconic Phillips 66 Gas Station in McLean. The station, which was similar to many other petro stations back in the day, shut down as a gas station in 1977. 08-21
