Here's the Bug Ranch, located in Conway, TX. Appearing to be set in the same vein as the Cadillac Ranch, the Bug Ranch is composed of 5 VW Bugs driven into the ground (literally) and is located just east of Amarillo. 02-07

Check out The Big Texan Steak Ranch, located near Route 66 in Amarillo, TX. The Big Texan opened its doors alongside Route 66 back in 1960. When news came of the building of the new interstate, threatening to bypass the business and suck its life out, a new home for The Big Texan was built at a the current location in 1970. 02-07

Here's another photo of the Big Texan at Roadside Peek's Sit Down Eateries. See more Texas Route 66 treasures.

Check out the Groom Cross that is a can't miss sight off both the old 66 cutting through town and the I-40. This cross was built in 1995 and is 19 stories tall. 08-21

Britten USA Water Tower

This leaning Britten USA Water Tower in Groom, TX is one of the top roadside icons of Route 66. The tower can't be missed as you travel off the I-40.

The tower was developed as a marketing ploy by Ralph Britten to get roadside tourists to pull of the interstate and Route 66 and stop at his truck stop. It certainly worked as this has become a can't miss stop off the Mother Road even though the truck stop is long gone. 08-21
