Roadside Men Rocky Mountains

Jerome, Idaho is home to this roadside man featuring a cowboy hat. From the looks of things, he is holding a stop sign in his hands. He was located at a place called Good Samaritan Park.

What is attention catching here is the figure itself. Between the cowboy hat and stop sign, he's the kind of roadside character that's hard to drive past without taking a second look.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find much information about either the figure or Good Samaritan Park. Sometimes that's the way it goes with roadside discoveries. They catch your attention, but their stories remain a mystery. 10-06

UPDATE: The current status of the Good Samaritan Park Man could not be verified. It is unknown whether the figure still stands today. 06-26

Here's a roadside muffler man called the Greeley Man  located off the highway in, yes, Greeley, Colorado. This guy looks rather friendly as he peers out over the street. You can get a perspective of the size of these roadside giants in the picture on the right.

What is attention catching here is his sheer size. These roadside giants always seem big until you see someone standing next to them. Then you realize just how enormous they really are.

This particular fellow started life as a Phillips 66 Cowboy before eventually making his way to Greeley. Like many of these fiberglass giants, he's had a few different looks over the years, but he still does a great job of attracting attention from passing motorists. 11-07

UPDATE: The Greeley Man still stands along 8th Avenue in Greeley today. The giant fiberglass figure received a fresh repaint in 2022 and continues greeting travelers from his longtime perch outside a local automotive business. 06-26
