The Thunderbird Motel in Bishop shows off its neon at night to the travelers off the 395.

The Village Motel is another Bishop motel that glow brightly along the main highway.
Off on the east side of the 395 is the El Rancho Motel with its shining star.
The Commodore Motel in Oakland still shows it vacant sign lit. Sage Motel (Left) Here's a shot of the Sage Motel located just off of the freeway and its half lit neon sign.
The City Center Motel marquee is just down the block from the motel itself... but it's situated in such a way that the sign just can not be missed by the passing motorists.
At dusk, the flamingos come out to say hello at the passing motorists. This scene can still be seen out front of the Flamingo Motel in San Jose, CA.
The Sands Motel and its upright marquee can still be found along the main route heading to San Jose.
How about the Mission Motel and its neon marquee, glowing off the roadside. A bit further out of town, passers-by can nonetheless run into this neon delight as they head and out of the city... not on the expressway of course.
