Burger Joints Southern California

Dave's Burgers
Long Beach, CA

It's "Time to Eat," or so the sign says at this road front burger joint. Despite its better than bankers hours, Dave's Burgers seems to cater to a regular crowd. Dave's has been around since the 1950's.

In some circles, Fatburger is the place to go for good burgers and chili burgers. Fatburger and its familiar marquee has been a burger institution, especially in the Los Angeles area. Here's one of the original locations in Los Angeles.

Lucky Boy Hamburgers features an old time looking rooftop sign that's a delight to see.

Not sure if the sign still lights up these days.

UPDATE 02/07 : Lucky Boy Hamburgers was torn down about 1 1/2 years ago. Now a McDonald's is on that location of Otis and Firestone. Many thanks to Timothy G. Shubin for update. 02-07

Check out the site of the original Tommy's Burger Stand off Rampart in Los Angeles. Grab a few double cheeseburgers for a snack at any time, especially since Tommy's is open 24 hours.

Tommy's on Rampart first established itself at this location in 1946 and still features just a stand up eating area, while newer locations are dine-in.

Beeps is a great old circa 1956 hamburger stand in Van Nuys that's always busy because it's cool and the food's pretty good!
