Roadside Drug Stores Southern California

Fisher Drugs (Closed)

Fisher Drugs is an interesting looking shop with its googie facade. Unfortunately this place no longer exists... looks like the Rite Aids and Walgreen's of the world have taken over.

This old rooftop sign is for the Vista Drugstore. Fancy the day when signs like these were just a normal part of everyday life. 05-04

Check out this location for an Owl Drug Store. The building itself is a flashback to decades past. This drug store is located somewhere in Los Angeles. 04-06

The Fair Oaks Pharmacy is an old time pharmacy that's found along Route 66 in South Pasadena. The pharmacy has been serving the community since 1915 when it opened as the South Pasadena Pharmacy and still features a working soda fountain. In the 1920's and 30's the pharmacy was known as the Raymond Pharmacy. The Fair Oaks Pharmacy was restored in the early 1990's, including a soda fountain that used to occupy the McGee Pharmacy in the Route 66 town of Joplin, MO. And yes, the lettering on the signs do light up at night.11-10
