Here's a photo of the building that remains from an old downtown five and dime store. Silver's 5 & 10 has been converted into an assortment of cafes and shops, but at least the original sign has been left in place.

This Philco sign features old neon sign above a non-occupied building on North Jackson St. in Albany, GA. The sign may now be faded out but its clear that Philco letters used to once glow with pride. In the early 20th Century, Philco was a very popular maker of radios and televisions, leading the industry in radio sales for a couple of decades. 09-06
According to this website, the Thompson’s Store and Ward’s Grill, was built in 1910 and is identical to the M. A. Pace Store (above) also located along Main Street. The Thompson's Store has been operated by the Lola Ward family since 1941 and serves as a community gathering spot. 03-09
