Where else can you get good oysters other than at a place called The
Pearl? The marquee for this restaurant also lights up a night.

It is a hopping shame that his place sunk. All that remains of the Ellis
Restaurant are traces of neon frogs which once must have jumped
across there marquee. The defunct eatery is part of a row of boarded buildings
along Chestnut Street in Chattanooga, TN. Directly across, is the Chattanooga
Choo Choo Hotel where guests have the opportunity to sleep in converted

Check out Country's Barbecue in Columbus, Georgia. At one time,
this was a Trailways Bus Station that was slated for demolition. The sign
kept the original "Air Conditioned" neon work from the old sign
(located near the bottom). The owner of Country's parked a 50's bus against
the restaurant and opened a doorway between them to allow patrons to eat
on the bus itself.

If you follow Route 9 into Downtown Spartanburg you will see two classic
diners across from one another. Simple Simon, by all accounts, seems closed. A weird googie looking ball is mounted above the front door.
