The 40 Motel of Columbus, OH looks like a poor man's version of
the old Holiday Inn marquee of the 60's. Featuring similar, though subdued,
colors, the 40 Motel makes a not so subtle reference to the highway.

Here's a close-up look at the 40 Motel sign. It's good to see that there are still existing roadside signs along the old Highway 40 as it cut through Columbus. 05-06

porcelain.
Shelton Inn

This motel in Peru, IN, still features its sloping rooftop and advertises
its services with its rooftop sign. This motel is called the Shelton Inn.

Not sure if this is one of the originals or just a copycat version.

The Overpass Motel is getting lit-up for another evening of work.
This motel is located at the intersection of US Hwy 27 and SR 32 in Winchester,
Indiana. The motel is still in business and this wonderful old sign shines
