Here's the neon sign for the Reno Corsi Restaurant. Check out the way the letters all light up at this Alsip, IL restaurant. 07-07 Update 07/07 : The Reno Corsi Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge stood abandoned for many years. Highland, IN is home to Johnsen's Blue Top Drive-in restaurant and this eye catcher of a neon marquee. 07-07
The Tropics restaurant built in 1950 is located off the Mother Road in Lincoln, IL. The marquee is still of the neon variety. 07-07
The old Dairy Queen marquees are starting to become a rarer sight off the roadside. Here's one in Huntington, IN. 07-07
The Lemon Drop is a drive-in restaurant located off the boulevard in the Indiana town of Anderson. 07-07
The Ariston Cafe dates back to 1924, when it was first opened in Carlinville. After moving to Litchfield in 1929, the Ariston has been at its location along the Mother Road since 1935. The Red Cedar Inn is another Route 66 legend in MO. Located in Pacific, MO, the Red Cedar Inn was founded in 1934 and was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. According to Route 66 News, the Red Cedar Inn was closed in March 2005 and was being considered for purchase by the city of Pacific. Zehnder's first began serving chicken dinners in 1928 and has been a popular stop since. Check out the neon sign that has been gracing Zehnder's for years. See more information at the website for Zehnder's. 11-07
The Pizza King is located on Hwy 9 at the north end of town and is still in business. Pizza Kings seem to be an Indiana thing with, in my opinion, the best two here in Marion. 12-07
The neon still lights the sign at the Broadway Joe's Tavern in Fort Wayne, IN. The arrow points the way into the doors of this joint. 12-07 North Star Bar Here's the marquee for the North Star Bar in Fort Wayne, IN. Check out the star on top of the sign as well as the rest of the neon catching the attention of motorists passing through town. 12-07
